English/Polish | Drama | 4m51s | 2011

A few years ago I was a member of a local drama group.  One of our number, Asia, was leaving Shetland and wanted some memento of her time here, so this short was quickly conceived. During a rehearsal for a play, I heard her speak in her native Polish language and joked that she ‘could be saying anything about us’ and we wouldn’t know. The film explores the question of ‘what’s the worst that could have been said’ during that call.

We are grateful to Monty’s Bistro and Weisdale Mill for location shots.
